Dr. Rachelle Viinberg is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and three-time Olympian with a special interest in cardiovascular health, metabolic health, hormones, healthy aging, and preventative medicine.

Rachelle’s clinical focus includes:
- Cardiovascular health and prevention
- Cholesterol, ApoB and Lp(a)
- Metabolic health and blood sugar regulation
- Hormone health and midlife changes
- Healthy aging and longevity
- Nutrition and lifestyle medicine
- Exercise, recovery and physical resilience
Her Approach
Rachelle takes a detailed look at each patient’s health history, symptoms, family history, lifestyle, and laboratory results rather than interpreting individual numbers in isolation.
Her clinical lens integrates:
- Cardiovascular and metabolic risk assessment
- Blood work and laboratory testing
- Hormone health
- Nutrition and movement
- Sleep, recovery and lifestyle medicine
Her goal is to turn complex health information into a practical, individualized plan while working collaboratively with patients’ family physicians and specialists when appropriate.
From Olympic Athlete to Naturopathic Doctor
Before becoming a naturopathic doctor, Rachelle competed internationally as a member of the Canadian National Rowing Team. She represented Canada at three Olympic Games and won a silver medal in the Women’s Eight at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Her background in elite sport continues to influence her approach to health. She understands that long-term performance and healthy aging aren’t simply about pushing harder—they depend on nutrition, recovery, resilience, consistency, and understanding what your individual physiology needs.
Why She Writes These Blogs
Rachelle writes to help patients better understand cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, laboratory testing, hormones, and preventative health without creating unnecessary fear around individual test results.
Her articles are designed to help you understand what your numbers mean, what they don’t mean, and what questions may be worth discussing with your healthcare team.
